OSC PRODUCES WINNERS

August 19, 2016
The just concluded Nigerian student Fashion and Design week was a blast of creativity from up coming fashion designers, students from various schools and locations came from all over to showcase their talent.
It was a 2 day of fun filled fashion creativity at its best, with exciting new fresh designs on the run way at the Unilag sport hall Auditorium. there were many special guest and celebrities in attendance  like, our own Mrs Olusola Babatunde, Noble Igwe,Ejiro Amos Tafiri, complete fashion, Wana Sambo, and so many Nigerian actrors and Actresses.
 
The great News about the show is that 1st and second place winners were from our school.
Rosie the winner of Ashillarozae is the winner see her picture below, we are so proud of this hard working talented lady.
 

 

two sisters who both are the creatives behind their label called CeCe came in second place they are also Osc college of fashion Alumni  see their picture bellow, watch out for these talented upcoming designers with amazing talents, with the right training your inner gift would shine. Are interested in dressmaking, patternmaking, or any tasks that are closely related to clothes and sewing, then you will definitely have a bright future as a clothing pattern maker. Technically, a clothing pattern maker is responsible for developing and creating patterns for a variety of clothing apparels. They conceptualize their patterns through the use of drawings and sketches. The task may require and  entail grading, detailing, and adjusting garments in various sizes.

 Our organization was set up to provide empowerment, skill development support and the training in the fashion industry, for girls, women, and youth. This is in line with the 5th sustainable developmental goals. Our training equips them with employability skills, economic self-sufficiency skills, entrepreneurial skills; they in turn create jobs for the populace of Nigerian and Africa at large. OSC believes that through these many programs, we can address the issues of unemployment and create entrepreneurs that can excel in the fashion industry, with our programs that vary from individual and group training classes, community projects as well as OSC College of fashion scholarship program.

 We are dedicated to honoring exceptional young girls and women who have passed through our training and done very well, during our OSC COLLEGE OF FASHION GRADUATE FASHION WEEK, which consist of activities such as fashion business seminars followed by written and practical exams, followed by fashion show, graduation and award show, these activities are in line with our goal which is to train, develop and support African youth to become celebrated entrepreneurs in the fashion industry. the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best graduating students gets to stock their clothes in our retail stores, this gives them a good head start for their brand in the fashion industry, they would be an inspiration and positive role models across the globe. 

 

In line with our goals and vision above we created a platform for all our students and alumni yearly, to show case their works for the world to see, as most fashion shows are for already known brands, we at OSC Believe that when given the right platform and publicity upcoming and well trained designers can equally if not outperform the known ones.

SHIRT MAKING  INTENSIVE CLASS Monday to Thursday

in this course you will learn step by step methods of how to sew all the parts of a shirt and how to make the patterns for shirts only

 

Description

 

In this module you will learn basic sewing skills needed for shirt making . Through practical demonstrations,videos and hands on experience, you'll learn how pattern pieces are drafted to create a shirt, and how to lay out patterns ready to cut out and make up a shirt for yourself with your new found sewing skills.

The course includes:

  • Designing a simple shirt
  • Pattern cutting and making a sample in calico
  • Sewing techniques
  • Various seam constructions pressing and finishing

Duration 1 month

fees 120,000 Naira

Level:

  • Beginners
  • Those who already know how to sew but want to learn shirt making ONLY

TRAINING EXPERTICE

OSC has established Industry Advisory Board members, which include designers, merchandisers, CEOs, owners and presidents of a variety of fashion businesses volunteer to share their industry experience based on the belief in the quality and promise of our program. Our training institute offers training in a conducive environment with modern industrial machines, our class rooms are fully air conditioned, can seat 60 students this way it allows for each student to access all training room facilities like industrial sewing machines, specialty machines, other amenities include; parking space, Wi-Fi internet facility, projector, fully furnished hostel facilities and 40kva standby generator etc.

 

ACHIVEMENTS

  • Awarded No 1 fashion training school 2014 by Black and Bold fashion magazine and company.
  • Nominated fashion Academy of the year west African fashion Awards WAFA
  • Awarded with the WED Ambassador by the Entrepreneurial development center (EDC)/Lagos Business school, of the PAN Atlantic university
  • Partnered with  Nike Adeyemi foundation to provide fashion training scholarship to their beneficiaries
  • The company is on the selection panel for Goldman Sachs 10,000 women scholarship programme of the entrepreneurial development Centre, she was one of the facilitators for Knot Center Women Empowerment and Capacity Building Training Centre
  • Trained over 1500 students who have gone on to establish their own businesses
